A Little Girl's Dream. A Mission to Inspire Confidence.
Welcome to Sarie's Melanin, where one little girl's dream has grown into a mission to inspire confidence, celebrate individuality, and remind every girl that she is beautiful, capable, and worthy of her biggest dreams.
Our story began with a little girl named Sara-Renee', affectionately known as Sarie. Like many young Black girls, Sarie experienced moments when she didn't always see girls who looked like her represented in books, television, magazines, or online. She wanted a world where girls with her beautiful melanin-rich skin could feel seen, celebrated, and proud of exactly who they are.
Those experiences sparked a dream that would become Sarie's Melanin.
What started as a vision to create products that reflected girls like Sarie has grown into a brand dedicated to building confidence from the inside out. We believe that representation matters and that every girl deserves to grow up surrounded by positive reminders that she is enough, exactly as she is.
Our first collections featured thoughtfully designed zipper scrunchies, satin bonnets, swimsuits, and accessories created with love and care. As our mission continued to grow, so did our purpose.
Today, Sarie's Melanin is about so much more than accessories.
We create journals and confidence-building products that encourage girls to dream boldly, embrace their uniqueness, and discover the incredible strength that already lives inside them. Every product is intentionally designed to help girls express themselves, reflect on their goals, celebrate their achievements, and believe in the amazing future waiting for them.
Our first journal, Dear Future Me, represents the next chapter of that mission. Through guided prompts, affirmations, goal-setting activities, and meaningful reflection, it encourages girls to build confidence one page at a time while creating a safe space to dream, grow, and become the women they were created to be.
Today, Sara continues to inspire everything we create.
She is kind, creative, determined, and full of curiosity. She loves reading, participating in sports, spending time with family, and challenging herself to learn and grow. Watching her confidence develop reminds us that every girl deserves encouragement, support, and opportunities to discover her own unique gifts.
One of Sara's favorite sayings perfectly captures the heart of our brand:
"Melanin is the amount of pigment God gave me; it makes me, me."
Those simple words remind us that our differences are beautiful, our stories matter, and our confidence begins by embracing who we were created to be.
